| In addition to the requirements for admission to the University, a potential music student must also meet the requirements of the Department of Music as well. |

The requirements include: |

| 1 |
Each student must perform an audition in his/her principal performing medium (band/orchestral instrument; piano or organ; voice). |
|
|
| 2 |
Each student must take placement tests in music theory and piano( which is a required secondary medium for all students except those with piano as the principal medium). |
|
|
| 3 |
A student for whom piano or organ is the principal medium must take a test in another instrument or voice for placement in a secondary medium. |
