Our campus television facilities serve the entire campus of Norfolk State University. The studios, non-linear and linear editing suites, sound rooms, and other production facilities are administrated by Creative Services, a unit of the Office of Information Technology, with offices and television facilities located in Bowser Hall.

Every NSU student has the opportunity to gain valuable television experience through volunteer associations with Creative Services or through independent student television productions, many of which are produced by Mass Communications and Journalism students. In addition, some individual courses in Mass Communications and Journalism require students to produce original material for campus television as part of their course work.

Norfolk State University is also a member of CNN Newsource; consequently, students have access to CNN copyrighted material for use in on-campus television productions, an important element that can lend professionalism to any student production.

Thus, a student who begins working for campus television as a freshman volunteer, and continues working with Creative Services in various capacities, graduates with at least four years of experience in television. That, along with a baccalaureate degree from NSU Mass Communications and Journalism, has helped many graduates land that important first job in the highly competitive television industry.

See the TV studio in our campus virtual tour.
After it loads, just scroll down the menu in the lower right-hand corner to #14-The Bowser Building and click on the "T" next to "TV Studio."
