On behalf of Norfolk State University and the Department of Sociology, we would like to welcome you to the Master of Arts Criminal Justice website.

The Master of Arts in Criminal Justice (MACJ) Program, in support of the University mission, is committed to providing a “high quality education.” We are a dynamic and growing program, committed to academic excellence in teaching, research, and service. 

In keeping with the University’s mission, the Criminal Justice Program continues to institute new initiatives and further develop on going ventures to ensure a rigorous, yet supportive learning environment for graduate education.  For example, we have upgraded the student development station, secured new statistical software and additional laptops for student use.  In addition, to enhance student writing and research skills, we have implemented a series of workshops and organized study sessions. The Criminal Justice Program is committed to developing criminal justice professionals with the requisite skills for effective leadership and career advancement.

The Master of Arts in Criminal Justice (MACJ) Program addresses the diverse needs of professionals who provide leadership in the justice system. Two areas of concentration permit students to develop specialized skills and expertise.
