Mrs. Walker graduated from Norfolk State University with a degree in English and a concentration in early childhood education, later earning a master’s degree in English from Old Dominion University. Prior to attending Norfolk State, Mrs. Walker studied at the College of William and Mary, Drury College, Florida State University, and Old Dominion University.
Mrs. Walker teaches in the Honors Program and is currently serving as the president of the Virginia Collegiate Honors Council (which also includes West Virginia). She is also the faculty advisor for NSU’s yearbook, Reflections.
Her leisure activities include traveling, boating, skiing, camping, and horseback riding. When not on campus, she can often be found on her farm, where she raises hay, horses, and cattle.
Mrs. Walker’s favorite authors are too numerous to mention, but the works of Octavia Butler and William Shakespeare rank among her preferred readings.
