Ms. Dottie Demory Perry, a graduate of Norfolk State University, has taught English at Norfolk State University for twenty-five years.  She holds a bachelor of arts degree in English and a master of arts degree in communication.  She has done further study at The College of William and Mary. 

 

In addition to teaching writing, literature, and methods courses, Ms. Perry serves as the Department’s writing specialist for the writing center.  In that capacity, she provides supplementary instruction to many students, including those  preparing for the Examination of Writing Competency, those taking writing courses, prospective graduates preparing for licensure examinations, and graduate students preparing for discipline-specific writing tasks.

 

Ms. Perry’s favorite authors are Toni Morrison and Richard Wright.
