Mr. Daniel Pearlman was born in Norfolk and reared in Virginia Beach. He returned to Norfolk to teach at NSU in 1996, after having earned his MFA from George Mason University. His poetry has appeared in many journals, including most recently Dos Passos Review, Beltway Poet's Domain, and Washington Review. His band, The Dunes, released a CD, Spirits of the Revolution, in 2006 and has played in New York; Washington, D.C.; Norfolk; Virginia Beach; and other locations. His favorite books are Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman and 1984 by George Orwell.
