Mrs. Barbara S. Jones, a Virginia Beach native, earned a B.S. degree in business education at Norfolk State University. Shortly after graduation, she was recruited to join the staff in the Department of Foreign Language in the Division of Humanities, where she served from 1969-1980 as the departmental secretary. She moved to the Department of Music in 1980 and remained there until 1986, when she assumed her current position as an administrative specialist in the Department of English and Foreign Languages.
Mrs. Jones also graduated from the Moseley-Flint Schools of Real Estate and the Alpha Omega School of Real Estate. She has been a licensed realtor since 1973.
Her hobbies include sewing and traveling. She has visited France, Italy, Scotland, Switzerland, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, and many cities in the United States.
Mrs. Jones is a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, where she served as president of its Trust-Ettes Ministries from 1993-1995.
