Dr. Rosalie Black Kiah teaches American, African-American and young adult literatures. She is a past recipient of the University’s Roy A. Woods Teacher of the Year Award. As a senior Fulbright Scholar Lecturer from 1996-1998 at the University of Botswana in Southern Africa, she taught literature of the African diaspora. She travels widely and has visited four of the seven continents, eight of the Caribbean Islands and half of the states in the United States.
With a research interest in African-American and Caribbean literatures, Dr. Kiah has made scholarly presentations in these disciplines at regional, state, national and international conferences. She holds degrees from Virginia State University (B.S.), Temple University (Ed.M.), and Michigan State University (Ph.D.) in young adult literature.
