The cadre of the Norfolk State University Army ROTC Battalion represents more than 80 years of combined military service, in all facets of the United States Army. Officers and Non-Commisioned Officers from combat, combat support, and combat service support specialties provide the benefit of their experiences and differing perspectives to cadets. All cadre share a fundamental desire to help cadets achieve and excel. The maximum opportunity for success, both in the classroom and in the field, is guaranteed by the cadre's dedication and professionalism.

The support staff of the battalion is second to none. The administrative, educational, and logistical requirements of cadets is an unending responsibility, that is consistently and repeatedly identified, addressed, and resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.
